G-Tek Maxiflex gloves for a Variety of Jobs
G-Tek Maxiflex gloves come in numerous different designs. Where the term work gloves once referred to most any heavy glove suitable for protecting the hand against abrasion, the term encompasses much more today. Work gloves need to be specialized to the task the worker needs to get done. For example, a worker that handles fine parts all day cannot get by with a pair of gloves that significantly reduce manual dexterity. An employee who handles sharp materials during their day, on the other hand, needs a great deal of protection.
G-Tek Maxiflex gloves oftentimes are designed to combine two different types of material into one glove. This allows, for instance, an employee to use a Nitrile- or latex-coated glove while having a cloth back that allows their hand to breathe. Some gloves have materials in layers that offer extra protection against certain hazards. Principally, you’ll have to make sure that your employees hands are protected against the worst hazards associated with their job. A meat cutter, for instance, needs cut protection while an automotive worker needs gloves that protect them against both cuts and oil. There are many designs that combine various forms of protection.
G-Tek Maxiflex gloves are designed to fit with the hand and to move naturally with it. This is a concept born of ergonomics. Older gloves used to be basically flat, which doesn’t provide for the maximum amount of manual dexterity. In an ergonomically-designed glove, the tips of the fingers are aligned with the tips of the glove. This allows the maximum amount of manual dexterity as the smallest of materials can be picked up and handled without having to compensate for the end of the glove slipping off the tips of the fingers. Fit is important in these more advanced gloves.
Some G-Tek Maxiflex gloves contain latex. This material may cause severe reactions in some individuals. If you’re providing gloves to your employees, make sure that you’re aware if anyone has such an allergy and, if possible, provide another material, such as Nitrile. Make sure that employees who handle oily parts are provided with gloves that provide grip in addition to dexterity. Some materials are very good at providing excellent control on slippery parts. For employees who work on engines or do other fine, mechanical work, these are generally a necessity for a safe workplace.
